Tropical, jungle, amazonian, tribal. Call it as you want but the graphic theme of the ‘wildest flora ‘ is one of the most appreciated this season, from fashion to music to graphic design. In this fantasy world we feel like to be hidden behind a tribal masks, in the dark, inside a forest with its intricate ramifications. We can feel our strength, courage, fears and desires… This demi-real jungle a place where anything can happen. The French brand Hermès immediately bet on this trend, presenting a collection inspired by the tropical print first, which has been translated into an advertising campaign set in the green scenery of the Amazon. The home department has embraced the theme too, developing a precious collection of home textiles. Also Kenzo embraced the jungle mood – with the great success of Tiger print that almost flow into camouflage -, Roberto Cavalli pants, Céline, MSGM (click here) and Prada. But a trend is not a trend unless contaminates more parallel spheres. Moooi imagines a carpet inspired from Africa with indigenous people, while the Belgians Job Smeets and Tynagel of Gerard Nijborg DStudio Job drew a collection of unique wallpapers for NLXL. Even music is contaminated, as evidenced by the cover of Elegancia Tropical album (video on the right) by the South American Group Bomba Estereo. It is an electro-soul music with hints of R&B, single-voiced rendition of Li Saumet.
