On the occasion of the Milan Design Week 2018, Artplayfactory and Effettovetro submitted at Zeus gallery their first collaboration: Ussari Bay, a new lamps collection based entirely on the glass. The Ussari Bay Collection is inspired by the Siberian beach in Vladivostok, where its name comes from. ‘Glass Beach’ has been the principal landfill of glass for the local industries during the Soviet occupation. Nowadays the same bay which was closed for years as a danger zone is a marine protected area. The natural erosion model the glasses obtaining, as a result, an incredible world of coloured light reflections. Angela Ardisson wanted a monolith role assumed by the glass for this collection, is a stone and a lens at the same time where the light passes through. Effettovetro has carefully collaborated in this monolith, mixing several colours in different levels. The result is a mélange of shades, dominant by transparency. The brass diffuser is smooth and curved, primordial like an egg section, tapered like a rounded ogive. Ussari Bay exists in small, for table and wall fixture, and big versions, for ground and outdoor.
