At IMM Cologne, the first furniture fair of 2018, KARIMOKU NEW STANDARD not only show many new products and variations, such as the Castor Table 180 and the above Elephant 3-Seater Bench, but also the prototype of a new chair they expect to launch soon. Together with Berlin-based design duo GECKELER MICHELS the Japanese design brand KARIMOKU NEW STANDARD developed the Panorama Chair, the first chair for the company conceived as a contract chair: comfortable, stackable, versatile and innovative. The Elephant 3-Seater Bench is a new element from the Elephant Sofa, designed by CHRISTIAN HAAS, the German designer based in Munich and Paris. Elephant Sofa is a strikingly simple and elegant, versatile upholstery range, designed to function in private – as well as public places. Its calm and soft forms suggest timeless comfort and an unobtrusive cosiness. The curved armrests invite to relax and allow different sitting postures. Its elaborate details like the feet carved from solid wood, make the sofa a unique piece of furniture. The upholstery is firm but comfortable, containing a durable pocket spring core, cushioned with high-quality foams. The sofa is covered with a high-performance fabric made from recycled synthetic materials, with an appealing, woolly texture. The different modules, consisting of a 3-seater, 2-seater, 3-seater bench, Ottoman and Chaise longue, complement each other and allow various combinations and a wide range of applications.
