Roca has launched its new Ona collection in a global live-streaming event

Versatility, wide range and timeless design with soft shapes and geometric lines. Ona includes the latest innovations of the brand, such as Fineceramic® and Stonex® materials, the Everlux finish, touchless technology or Supraglaze® coating.

Ona, which means wave in Catalan, is the newest complete bathroom created by Roca, a company born in 1917 near Barcelona on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. The collection, which offers solutions to fully equip any type of bathroom space has been inspired by Mediterranean Sea landscapes, lifestyle, and values.

The presentation of the new Ona collection -a global event streamed from the Joan Miró Foundation in Barcelona, simultaneously followed by 3000 people from all around the world- had the participation of some of the professionals involved in its design, development, and production processes as well as its communication campaign. Marc Viardot, Roca Group’s Corporate Marketing, and Design Director; Carolina Velasquez, chief designer at NOA Intelligent Design; Gae Benedito, Senior Product Designer at Benedito Design; Gabriel Escamez, founder of the interior design studio Cobalto; and Daniel Ayuso, creative director of the branding agency Clase Bcn, took part in a round table conducted by Nuria Moliner, architect, communicator, and researcher.

Developed by the Roca Design Center team in collaboration with the international design studios Noa Design and Benedito Design, the collection is defined by a Mediterranean-inspired design with soft shapes in geometric lines.

Manufactured respecting natural materials and with a transversal approach to sustainability, Ona stands out for its versatility perfect from private bathrooms to public spaces. It is a complete bathroom collection -basins and furniture, faucets, baths, accessories, WCs, and bidets- that combines highly functional and accessible timeless design with new standards of hygiene and comfort.

Fineceramic® in basins: natural hygiene and delicate shapes

A good example of this versatility is the wide range of basins and their combinations with the available furniture units. Designed in collaboration with Noa Design, the basins are an example of all possibilities offered by Fineceramic®, the ceramic material that allows for finer and lighter pieces that adapt to any size. Moreover, Fineceramic® facilitates a more sustainable production process: it generates zero waste, all its composites are natural and the weight reduction positively impacts firing and transport, reducing CO2 emissions.

The basin range includes different options where the bowl is placed asymmetrically or centered to provide extra useful shelving space. Over countertop, basins are also available in rectangular and round shapes, always in white and matt white finishes. The glossy white has the option of Supraglaze® coating. This extra smooth surface, allows microscopic residue to slide off and inhibits dirt buildup.

Ona offers the right furniture option for each basin, thanks to standard solutions with one drawer, two drawers, or simple doors. They all feature a soft-close system and full extraction drawers and are available in a purely Mediterranean range of colours (matt white, matt grey, dark elm, light oak, and matt green).

Ona’s proposal for accessories manufactured with recyclable materials -they have been specifically designed to fit the basin shelf or the standard drawers of the furniture- also responds to the simple and functional character of the collection. It includes a pack with countertop elements (tray, container, soap dispenser, and tumbler), available in three matching furniture colours (matt white, matt grey, and matt green).

Faucets with character

One of Ona’s most singular elements is a faucet with a distinguishing look, conceived by Benedito Design. It represents the perfect balance between design, technology, and sustainability. It stands out for its cylindrical and particularly slim body, available in different heights and spout lengths with a flat minimalistic handle.

Inside it, the Cold Start opening system, the flow limiter, and a ceramic cartridge with reduced diameter guarantee greater efficiency, both in water and energy consumption. 

Ona faucets are available in four finishes: the chrome option with Evershine electrolytic coating, the two new colours provided by the exclusive Everlux PVD finish (titanium black, and rose gold) and the classic matt black. The range also includes versions for shower and bath (wall-mounted and built-in), kitchen, and public bathrooms, with the touchless operation.

Baths to feel closer to the Mediterranean

The bathtubs recall a peaceful and relaxing swim in the Mediterranean thanks to the large inner dimensions and the pleasant touch of Stonex®. Also inspired by natural resources, this exclusive Roca material stands out for its antislip properties, its resistance to abrasion, and durability. The collection offers built-in versions in two dimensions and models for corner-right or corner-left installation.

Rimless toilets, maximum hygiene standards

Unobtrusive toilets and bidets make the collection complete. All WCs are of the latest rimless generation and feature and have the Supraglaze® coating option, innovations that make cleaning easier and guarantee outstanding hygiene standards. Ona proposes toilets in different dimensions, with wall-hung, close-coupled and floor-standing models, as well as compact versions and wall-hung and back-to-wall bidets. This range also stands out for its extra height to provide greater comfort, as well as a larger flush button.
