The International Woolmark Prize is one of the most coveted awards in the world of fashion. From 1953 it spurs many of those that have proven as the most influential exponents of fashion design, to name two Karl Lagerfeld and Yves Saint Laurent. The Woolmark Company recently announced the nominees to the European Edition, which will be held this year on July 13 in Antwerp, where the selected designer will present six sketches of a capsule collection in Merino Wool and a complete outfit. Among the 18 nominees for the European regional finals, divided between menswear and womenswear, from Belgium, France, Denmark, Czech Republic, Germany and Netherlands, Italy will be represented by the two guys of COMEFORBREAKFAST for the female category; Christian Pelizzari will present instead a collection of menswear. Five other regional awards will be held in Shanghai (Asia), Sydney (Australia), in New York (USA), Dubai (India and Middle East) and in London (British Isles). In each of these 6 areas will be selected twelve finalists (two for each area) who will receive an award of $ 50,000 for their next collection, as well as an invitation to participate in the international final held at Pitti Uomo in Florence in January 2016, and in New York the next month. The winners of both categories will receive a prize of $ 100,000 to implement textile research and promotion of their collections.
