Contemporary jewellery seen as a “fermenting” creative process during JOYA 2017 – Barcelona Jewellery Week within the Off JOYA circuit: until October the 7th Gioielli in Fermento presents a selection of works from its 2017 MASTER COLLECTION, the iconic pieces from previous editions presented together with a number of pieces released on this purpose. The unconventional stage of the Apotheke, the laboratory of sensations of Ocaña, the exclusive and trendy venue in Plaça Reial, gives the iconic overview on the “fermenting” jewellery gathered over the course of the last six editions of the international Italian themed award. Gioielli in Fermento is an international exhibition project and award for contemporary studio jewelry. Starting from the landscapes of Italy in the winemaking region of Emilia hills, enjoying positive and inspiring environments, it opens its borders involving established and emerging artists from every country to express their relation with this particular context. The project consists of a competition open to designers and goldsmiths, art students, emerging and established artists, with its related annual exhibition showing unique pieces of jewellery inspired by a specific theme which changes every edition in connection with the real values of a Mediterranean natural and cultural context, which is our starting basis. Gioielli in Fermento project appears as a means of communication for the experimentation running in the world of jewellery. The landscapes surrounding the exhibition opening make possible to show this aspect of jewellery-making – called studio jewellery, which is currently far too little known among the contemporary applied arts – to a curious, or well-aware, or amazed audience of visitors. Since 2011, six editions, nearly 400 artists and a wider number of pieces have been presented under the selection of an international board of advisors in the field. Curated by Eliana Negroni, passionate about both wine and contemporary jewellery, with the kind collaboration of AGC Associazione Gioiello Contemporaneo, Charon Kransen Arts, Klimt02 network, Joya Barcelona and some local partners. The Gioielli in Fermento pop-up show will include works by awarded artists Maura Biamonti, Sébastien Carré, Nicoletta Frigerio, Akis Goumas Gigi Mariani Olivia Monti Arduini Viktoria Münzker Liana Pattihis and selected works by Francesca Antonello Silvia Beccaria Isabelle Busnel Alina Carp Luisa Chiandotto Luís Comín Corrado De Meo Clara Del Papa Ylenia Deriu Martina Eiselein Maria Rosa Franzin Eleonora Ghilardi Lucilla Giovanninetti Steffi Götze Nicola Heidemann Mara Irsara Iro Kaskani Saerom Kong Mirna Korolkovas Mia Kwon Heng Lee Ria Lins Chiara Lucato Mineri Matsuura Paola Mirai Rosa Nogués Freixas Esther Ortiz Villajos Barbara Paz Mabel Pena Poppy Porter Rosanna Raljevic Ceglar Gianni Riva Maddalena Rocco Stefano Rossi Kika Rufino Claudia Steiner Yoko Takirai Eva Tesarik Barbara Uderzo.
