During IMM Cologne and Paris’s Maison et Objet, German design brand, pulpo, launched its new CRYSTAL Collection, made in collaboration with Sebastian Herkner, Hermann August Weizenegger and Michael Schmidt. Led by Patrick and Ursula L’hoste, pulpo produces unique, decorative and highly functional products in collaboration with young and emerging talent. They all share a love of colour and the bravery to experiment. German designer Hermann August Weizenegger has designed the HERON floor lamp, where he has taken the soft lines and proud stance of a heron and given it an industrial makeover. The bending of oversized hollow steel has been utilised to represent the elongated neck and tucked wings of the heron. Recreating the tall stance of the waterbird, the HERON floor lamp creates a strong presence in any environment. STELLAR, a range of pendant lights which are inspired by the cosmos, is the result of the longstanding relationship with Sebastian Herkner, the talented German designer. Crafted from hand blown glass, Herkner plays with the materials’ ability to distort and reflect, with the surface of the light featuring curved ridges which are reminiscent of the moon’s deep ravines. Available in three sizes, the STELLAR range can be used as part of a larger constellation or sit at the centre of its own universe. Inspired by the traditional Lokum candy of North Africa, also new from Sebastian Herkner is the DELIGHT series of side tables. The DELIGHT, produced from hand blown glass, side tables exude a soft glow through their translucent structures. DELIGHT is available in both small and large as well as a choice of frosted colourways including transparent, smoky grey, white or aubergine. pulpo also launched the MADISON bar trolley by German designer, Michael Schmidt. Mixing materials, forms and references, the MADISON bar trolley is made up just like any good cocktail. Influenced by 1920s high culture and modernist architectural lines, and built up from a series of square pro led compartments and components, MADISON is a bar that is ready to roll into any contemporary gathering.
