Alfie’s fibre art Swedish designer and weaver Alfhild Külper create made-to-order fibre art pieces for floors, walls and furniture. Alfie’s soft revolution is handwoven in her studio in Amsterdam using a mix of techniques, mainly tufting ( with a tufting gun ). She realizes also rugs hooking and embroidery.“During the days I’m a fashion designer, but as this year gave a little more free time and a lot more solitude, I found more time for my passion project. I felt a need to make something from scratch, in a transparent and meaningful way. Longing for a more emotionally wise, and soft world, the pieces became an embodiment of the thoughts” said Alfhild. ALFIE’S FUZZY FRIENDS born in order to make something soft, tactile and comforting in times of insecurity and increased screen life. Each piece comes alive when she makes it. A piece that becomes a friend, to keep for life.All pieces are unique for the person and space, where they will go. The pieces are made with 100% wool, that has healing and self-cleaning qualities, as well as being warming, durable and sustainable.The wool is collected from leftover colours from manufacturers all over the world, to take a responsible way of making something new.
