Someone finds it a comfortable place to write or draw or eat or sleep; someone leaves his clothes on it before running to another meeting; someone will allow his cat to jump on it; someone has bought it at Ikea, someone else has fought to obtain it; someone can’t wait to stand up and leave it. What is sure is that our desks tell something about who we are and the founders of Writing. Design on your desk, the event that collects a selection of the best stationery worldwide, know it well. Writing. Design on your desk is an exhibition, a cultural and promotional format and also a store; it will take place at Frigoriferi Milanesi from April 10th to 13th. The location will be divided in two settings: the Emporium, which will be the heart of the event, with objects, ideas, innovations and also a shopping platform; the Agorà, home of debates and discussions. Different activities have been scheduled for the three days. On Thursday 10th it will be the turn of DESKription, with famous creatives showing us their personal desks and stationery, including: Alessandro Guerriero, Massimiliano Alajmo, Giulio Iacchetti, Caterina Crepax, Alioscia Bisceglia, Beppe Giacobbe, Paolo Bazzani, Caroline Corbetta. Then on Saturday and Sunday it will be up to Portfolio Parade, allowing young designers to have advices and portfolio-correction from experts such as: Ginette Caron, of Ginette Caron Communication Design; Roberto Maria Clemente, of Bellissimo and the Beast; Bruno Genovese, of Leftloft; Sergio Menichelli, of Studio FM Milano, David Moretti, Art-Director at Wired Italia; Massimo Pitis, of Studio Pitis; Elio Carmi, of Carmi e Ubertis; Francesco Franchi, Art Director at IL of Il Sole 24 ORE; Marco Molteni, of jekyll & hyde; Silvia Sfligiotti, of Alizarina. Moreover, three workshops will be active during the whole showcase: one on Friday about hand-made bookbinding; one on Saturday about archetypical, paper-made items; the last one on Sunday about printing techniques, by Cfp Bauer – Milan. You can’t definitely miss it.
