For “Scenery” Daisuke Kitagawa designed several new items based on his desire to bring new ease and joy to everyday life. Floe – coffee table The concept behind Floe is the design of a center table that is still plenty spacious, but lighter in feeling and easier to use, and that could be adapted to the occasion. This coffee table is built on a reflective stainless steel base, and has a tabletop that can be rearranged with the use of two plates of colored glass. While retaining the conventional top surface, the layout can be freely rearranged, depending on needs, to have different levels and to have space beneath the top surface. Like ice floating in the ocean, the combination of colored glass and mirrored base which reflects space creates a light feeling richly expressive. Lattice – cabinet This functional cabinet is characterized by using Shojis, a part of traditional Japanese architecture consisting of a translucent sliding doors constructed from a frame of thin wood pieces fitted together in a rectangular grid on which Japanese paper is glued. In Lattice the traditional Japanese paper has been replaced by fabric that gives gentleness to a sharp design that easily blends with all kind of interiors. The shelves are moveable, so they can be arranged to suit what is being stored. The result is a new style of cabinet that is functional and blends in. Street – lighting Equipped whit a large, thin, round lighting portion the same thickness as the post, Street allows, thanks to a hinge on the upright, to change the angle of the light. Moving from a single line to a large circle, allowing you to give either direct or indirect light, depending on the circumstances, while changing the visual impression. Lighthouse – candle holder Designed on the concept of a lighthouse that stands on a promontory, it is a symbolic yet intimate and charming object. Made of thin unglazed porcelain it is fire and heat resistant. In addition, the thin and translucent walls allow to radiate the warmth and light of the candle, while the size makes it possible to hold it in hand without warning the heat even when the candle is lit. The lighthouse shape emits luminescence that softly illuminates your table and reminds you of a peaceful scene. Struct – chair Every detail has been designed to offer a comfortable and functional sitting. Struct is made of wood and solid metal which together achieve a beautiful contrast. It can be stacked four high, so It is perfect and functional for use in public spaces. Ridge – flower vase Designed with the idea of creating a vase where the flowers could be arranged in a row, as if planted in a meadow, creating a kind of sculptural space that looks natural and completely new. The choice of marble creates a contrast that can accentuate the flowers and give a sense of stability, despite the long and subtle distinctive form. Trio – coat hanger Airiness and stability are the essential elements of this coat hanger composed of three legs and a single ring supporting them. The unique silhouette produced by the mutual support of these simple elements gives rise a rich expressiveness. The use of rattan for the ring that supports the legs evokes the softness of a natural and organic material serving also as a place for storing a bag, shoes or accessories.
