The first shopping map where you can discover current artists, new talents and young brands that are at the forefront of independent design in Barcelona. A hand-picked curated selection has been made by FAD (Fostering Arts and Design) – a non-profit association of professionals and businesses connected to design – of artist shops and independent brands that have taken the plunge in having their own shop in the city. All of them have been chosen because of the quality of design in their products and for their connection with the Catalan city. The project includes also an app that will help tourist and inhabitants to discover where to buy the best design products signed by independent designers and creatives, talents and new brands. Among those Berta Sumpsi, Amalia Vermell, Bibu, Frosum, Carlotaoms, Ika, Ana Tichy and Working in the red woods…On the 9th and 10th of June the illustrator, Pol Montserrat will carry out live in the reception of Hilton Diagonal Mar, a huge ‘shopping map’ of the city, where the artist shops and independent brands that have been selected will be pointed out.FAD and BCD (Barcelona Design Centre) will join forces this year to help Barcelona Design Week grow and expand, which will take place between the 5th and the 14th of June, so that they can achieve to position it as a major exhibition of the city and consolidate it among one of the best international design events.
