What will be the Future of Design? What challenges do independent designers face? With this premise, the second edition of FOD – Future of Design, to be held in Barcelona on November 11th-12nd, at MazdaSpace C/Comerc 60, will bring together prestigious professionals, scientists, creative and marketing experts to offer to participants a series of conferences and workshops; tools that can help professionals differentiate in their proposal, have a vision of the future, develop strategies, and create a space for debate and networking.

Over 300 unique products from 40 independent designers will be exhibited in an ephemeral installation created for the occasion by architect Luca Hugo Brucculeri, with the precious collaboration of Marcelo Vilá y Complás for decoration.

FOD – Future of Design will be a place where designers, students, creatives and design lovers will gather to find solutions, strategies, inspiration, and share knowledge at both creative and business level.

FOD is an initiative of Piscolabis Designers, a platform for the promotion and support of independent designers in Barcelona, with the collaboration of MAZDA automotive brand and with the support of the Catalan Government and the City of Barcelona.

FOD Awards – A prize by category (Fashion – Accessories – Industrial design) plus a special mention. The jury will consist of our board of directors and other important figures. Presented by Flora Saura, host of ARTIC cultural program, betevé. The fashion prize will be delivered by Manuel Bolaño.

Fashion Films – The winning films of the 1st Fashion Film Festival of Barcelona, held on 5th of October, will be screened and presented by their creators.

Panel Discussion – On Sunday, starting at 5:45 pm, a roundtable will be organized, involving some designers, single-brand stores and concept stores, to discuss the future of Catalan design.

Finally, the presentation of Barter Design, a special initiative that will see the participants, marketing professionals, creators, graphic designers, illustrators and journalists in an interchange aimed to achieving an agreement for the placing on the market of one of the exhibited projects.
