Villa is the new metal chair designed by Jun Yasumoto for Colos, an Italian increasing company and producer of contract furniture and promoter of the Made in Italy into the international landscape. The new project was presented as a preview during the Salone del Mobile of Milan and now will be part of the company production and with the established collections of indoor and outdoor seating. As he did previously with Piazza, Yasumoto has succeeded in the goal of combining classic lines and contemporary aesthetics. Inspired by the outdoor seating in natural cane typical of Parisian terraces, Villa reinterprets the assembly method of the structural components with the aim of composing single parts to achieve an effective structural rigidity.Thin metal rod is worked in pairs to compose the structure; the result highlights the design of every single part of the chair while retaining a refined sense of lightness, further emphasized using the wire mesh in those sections that come into contact with the body. Through a subtle play of curves and connections, the shell is slightly raised laterally from the legs, thus making the chair easy to move and manage. Villa is available both a chair and an armchair version, available in five colors, and suitable for every furnished setting, especially for outdoor use.Born in Tokyo, with both French and Japanese nationalities, Jun Yasumoto lives and works in Paris. After graduating from ENSCI (Paris) in 2001, he set himself up as an independent designer and began collaborating with Jasper Morrison Office for Design in 2002, working on the development of numerous furniture, product, lighting and tableware design projects. He has also developed his independent career, working with international clients.
