Generous dimensions and a soft, reassuring silhouette for the small padded armchair Siena designed by Simone Bonanni for MDF Italia. The excess fabric confers a sense of movement to the surface and highlights the sense of comfort and conviviality. Given its look, volumes and ergonomics, this product is timeless and adapts perfectly to new scenarios. The piece has unique details, which simply mark the high-quality construction and craftsmanship. The double seam on the backrest highlights shape and tension; the comb joints connect the legs to the wood bases, enhancing the care and manual expertise of solid-wood working; an elliptical steel tubing inclined to 45°, a synonymous of technical expertise and advanced production. The young industrial designer Simone Bonanni was born in Pordenone, Italy, in 1989. Graduated with Honours in 2011 at Istituto Europeo di Design in Milan, in 2012 he left Milan and joined Marcel Wanders Studio in Amsterdam where he worked as a product designer and project leader for 3 years. Back from The Netherlands in 2015, he founded Simone Bonanni Design Studio in Milan. He is now working on several projects for selected international brands, focusing both on product design and Limited Editions, while also teaching and lecturing at Istituto Europeo di Design and IED Master in Milan.
