The Bellhop collection was launched by Flos at Salone del Mobile in 2017. The family was developed from a portable table lamp that Barber & Osgerby designed in 2016: “The Bellhop family began when we designed a table lamp for the new London Design Museum. The table top Bellhop gives the user ultimate flexibility as a portable lamp. We worked with Flos and adapted the simple archetype into a series of lamps including outdoor wall and bollard models. Bellhop casts an atmospheric pool of light and the portable version is like a modern-day candle.” stated Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby.Portable and rechargeable, Bellhop is a wireless table lamp that offers comfortable and anti-glare lighting. Bellhop hosts on its base a micro-USB connector to recharge its battery for a lighting life up to 24hrs. A battery status indicator is positioned under the base, while a push-button switch allows regulating the light emission from 10% to 100%, in four intensity steps. Base and shade are made of coloured polycarbonate in white, grey, brick and choko finishes. Photo-etched opal diffuser is in injection-moulded polycarbonate.photo credits Stefania Giorgi
